Bracknell Forest Council

We are on “The Look Out” for someone to assist in the management of our popular visitor centre housing our hands-on science and nature exhibition.

Working as part of a close team of enthusiastic and dedicated staff, applicants must possess excellent organisational and customer care skills, with an ability to cope under pressure so that The Look Out always runs smoothly and efficiently.  Management experience and excellent team building skills are essential for supervising, supporting and motivating staff within the centre.  Strong IT skills using Microsoft Office are also required as you will be responsible for the admin duties at The Look Out, including general correspondence, staff rotas and assisting the manager.

Facilities management experience would be an advantage as on your Duty Manager shift you will oversee the cleaning, maintenance and security of the buildings, play area, coffee shop and car park.  Experience of managing frontline staff, and reception would also be a distinct advantage.

The Look Out Discovery Centre is a very popular visitor attraction with a hands on science exhibition, gift shop, coffee shop and play area, set in 1,000 hectares of Crown Estate woodland.  Our aim is to make sure that our visitors have a safe, relaxing and enjoyable experience at all times, and the successful applicant will play a key role in achieving this.  The Look Out opens 7 days a week but no two days are ever the same!

In return you’ll have the benefit of working in a friendly and passionate team within a unique, fun environment, and will have the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.
