As Senior Housing Options Officer, you will work as a member of a busy housing team on the frontline of housing services, ensuring that clients are provided with housing options that prevent homelessness, and where this is not possible, ensuring that homelessness assessments are carried out efficiently and effectively in compliance with legislation and Council policy. The focus of the role is to ensure the delivery of a high quality, prevention-focused service to applicants in housing need.
With excellent communication and organisational skills, you will have the ability to quickly analyse information, be capable of prioritizing your own workload whilst dealing with persistent interruptions to pre-planned work and be able to deal with highly challenging and stressful situations. You will manage a team of Housing Options Officers and the ability to provide professional expertise and appropriate supervision, support and guidance to your team is essential. Educated to degree standard, and with a relevant housing qualification, you will have experience in roles working with housing options, homelessness, housing register, temporary housing and housing management. Membership of the CIH or a similar professional body is desirable.
