Assistant Tree Officer
Bracknell Forest Council is justifiably proud of the high quality standards achieved in the development and management of green space. With a wealth of parks, public open spaces and biodiversity; protecting and enhancing the environment is at the forefront of Council priorities with the result that the Borough is ranked third in a national assessment (Bluesky:2014) of areas with a significant tree-cover of 39.8%.
Following the departure of the previous post holder and keen to build on success and further improvement, we are looking for someone with the skills, initiative and drive to join our Tree Service.
With your working knowledge and experience of arboriculture and silvicultural practices, you will be involved in the day to day management of tree work across the Borough. Duties will include undertaking inspections and surveys of trees to assess the condition and potential risk. You will also manage contractors, produce clear and concise schedules of work and be involved in planning consultations and managing Tree Preservation Orders.
With a minimum National Diploma or working toward an equivalent qualification, you will have excellent organisational skills and be competent in the use of Microsoft packages.
