Bracknell Forest is changing. Whilst a major regeneration project re-energises Bracknell town centre, Bracknell Forest Council is also undertaking a major transformation programme to change how our services are delivered.
We are an ambitious Council with a firm grasp on the journey ahead. Within Adult Social Care we are one year into the transformation journey towards an integrated People Directorate. We acknowledge our success in budget savings and meeting increased demands on services but we recognize that there is still much to do.
In this pivotal role, you will help to maximise opportunities as we drive forward our transformation agenda. You will report directly to the Director of Adult Social Care, Health & Housing and work closely with the Senior Leadership Team across Adults and Children’s Services.
Your empowering leadership will be crucial in shaping the new People Directorate together with developing and embedding new ways of working within Adult Social Care. You will both benefit from and promote to your team our culture of “earned autonomy” with less bureaucracy. You will enable staff to identify ways to transform care practice – enabling people to stay well, independent and connected to their communities as long as possible.
You will already operate at a most senior management level and, as a qualified adult social care professional, your knowledge of current, changing legislation and policy will be much in demand. You will be comfortable leading a professional team of 200 staff who will look to you for leadership and a clear sense of direction during this period of change.
You will be driven by the passion to make a difference, inspire trust and have an empowering approach that gets the very best out of people. You will understand the importance of both leading and listening and do so equally.
Equally key, will be well developed political skills, a strong ability to influence/negotiate and establish credibility, as we integrate with health partners.
If you are excited by the enormous opportunity this position offers to shape and influence future social care practice, we will be delighted to hear from you.
