Bracknell Forest Council

Bracknell Forest is changing.  Whilst a major regeneration project re-energises Bracknell town centre, Bracknell Forest Council is also undertaking a major transformation programme to change how our services are delivered.

We are an ambitious Council with a firm grasp on the journey ahead.  Within Children’s/Adult Social Care we are one year into the transformation journey towards an integrated People Directorate.  We acknowledge our success in budget savings and meeting increased demands on services but we recognize that there is still much to do.

In this pivotal role, you will help to maximise opportunities as we drive forward our transformation agenda. You will report directly to the new role of Director of People and work closely with the Senior Leadership Team.

You will have a portfolio of services: housing needs and benefits services, early help, family intervention and commercial and you will make the very best use of community assets and resources for the benefit of people in Bracknell Forest.

About You

Whilst we are reaching out for a skilled professional with experience in early help services who will help us maximise the independence of vulnerable people, we recognize we may not get the finished article and are willing to offer a mentor/coach in some areas.  However, of importance to us just at this moment in time, is your knowledge of Housing and Benefits Services.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will bring with you a strong track record of influencing at the most senior level.  Your blend of skills will evidence that you are commercially astute and able to seize opportunities when they are presented.  You will be surrounded by people who “get it” so you will be politically aware and be able to easily achieve personal credibility to a range of audiences.

Your profile will allow you to lead with confidence, think strategically and develop meaningful, respected relationships with a wide range of partners and stakeholders.

You will join the team at an early enough stage to create and develop the Early Help Service that will leave a legacy to Bracknell residents.  If the breadth of this role attracts you, we would be delighted to hear from you.
