Wooden Hill Primary School is a popular school, looking for committed staff to join the excellent team of dedicated professionals.  The school continues to grow from strength to strength and a few opportunities have arisen for new people to join the school on its journey of growth. 

An opportunity has arisen, initially on a temporary basis, for a suitable person to join our Key Stage 1 team at Wooden Hill Primary to support a child in Year 2 with Special Educational Needs.

The suitable candidate will preferably have previous experience and knowledge of working with a child with learning and social and emotional difficulties. This person will work under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo but will also need to take their own initiative to support this child to develop both emotionally and academically through the use of positive behaviour strategies.  In addition they need to be able to liaise with school staff, outside agencies and parents regarding the child’s progress.

We can provide support from the SENDCo, caring Key Stage 1 team and outside agencies.

The contract will be temporary whilst supporting a named child and reviewed on an annual basis based on the changing needs of the child. Hours will be 8.45am - 12pm Monday to Friday. This contract can be extended to include a lunchtime controller role until 1.30pm.

Pre–employment medical check

You may be asked about your physical ability to perform the job during interview. As a condition of the Offer of Employment, the successful applicant will be asked to complete an Occupational Health questionnaire from which our Occupational Health Advisor will assess your medical suitability to do the job. You may be required to attend a medical examination.

If you are not currently working with children/adults at risk but have done so in the past it is important that a reference is obtained from the employer by whom you were most recently employed working with children/adults at risk.

Employment references must be provided by your current or most recent line manager and will not be accepted from relatives or people writing solely in the capacity of friends. However, your referees may include someone you know with standing in the community i.e. a teacher, vicar etc.
