QUALITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICER / PROBATION OFFICER – 2 YEAR SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY
Salary: Band 4 (£29,038 to £36,084)

We have an exciting career development opportunity for a Probation Officer looking for their next challenge. This role consists of working 0.6 Quality Development Officer and 0.4 Probation Officer.
This is a key role with specific responsibility to contribute to the development of excellence in the quality of teamwork; through providing development, coaching, mentoring and guidance to all staff within the team. In addition, you will spend between 20 – 40% of your time maintaining your practice through the management of a defined caseload and/or authoring reports (pertaining to enforcement or safeguarding).
Reporting to the SPO, you will have a proven track record as a competent and high performing qualified Probation Officer. Successful applicants will need to be able to demonstrate:-
-Successful management of a diverse and challenging caseload, including high risk cases during periods of risk escalation prior to transfer to NPS.
-Ability to collate information, write clear written reports and feedback.
-Communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organisation in both 1:1 and group
-Evidence of commitment to quality and practice improvement.
-Ability to motivate, guide and coach staff.
-A thorough understanding of offender management, and its implementation in practice.
You will need to work collaboratively across the CRC with other QDO’s and with staff in the Learning and Development team.
Whilst the Line Management will be with the SPO’s there is a requirement for QDO’s to work with and be accountable to the Head of Business Improvement attending regular developmental meetings and be available for CRC wide quality improvement activities.
