About the role

Fixed term post for 9 months with a possible extension.

In this exciting role you will work in the Housing Options Team helping to assess the eligibility of households for social housing and nominating households to available accommodation with our partner agencies. You will also be responsible for dealing with general housing options enquiries at the Council offices in person, on the telephone and via letter and email.

About you

You should have experience in housing and experience of dealing with the public in a housing capacity. You must be able to work well as a team although you will often be out of the office working on your own conducting home visits and attending meetings. Good interpersonal skills are essential in this role in order to work confidently and sensitively with households in often difficult situations as well as with other agencies attempting to resolve clients housing situations.

This role will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Check and use of a car is essential. The post holder will also be part of the team’s rota for out of hours homelessness cover.
