Bracknell Leisure Centre is owned and managed by Bracknell Forest Council and offers a range of sporting activities to the local community. The site attracts in the region of 750,000 customers per year.
The primary catering facilities include the Time Out café and bar which provides hot and cold drinks, breakfast, lunch and light dinner options with a mix of fresh, healthy and home made products as well as traditional favourites, with a separate bar area serving draught beers.
In addition there are Conference/Function facilities which are managed by the catering team.
Functions include; parties, weddings and family gatherings and the catering offer is usually buffet style, but there are sit down meal options. We are looking to develop this area of the business, and would therefore encourage enthusiasm and innovation in this process, backed up with previous knowledge and experience.
As our Chef Manager, you will take a lead role in the cooking and development of menus for the café as well as for any functions or hospitality held on site, and will be responsible for managing staff within the catering team, so proven experience in these areas is essential.
You will assist the Catering Manager in overseeing the catering operations, whilst delivering and managing an excellent catering service, and will be responsible for the catering service in their absence.
In order to be a great fit for this role, you’ll need to have excellent cooking skills both in relation to taste and presentation. Previous experience providing quality food service in a conference centre would be an advantage.
Ideally you’ll have a passion for great food reflecting excellent value for money, coupled with high standards and attention to detail. You’ll have a positive “can do” attitude and a polite, friendly disposition.
