Medway Council is looking to appoint a Technical Accountant to join the Council’s restructured Finance division. The post holder will be part of a small corporate finance team responsible for co-ordinating the revenue and capital monitoring reports, leading the year end closure of accounts, preparing the statement of accounts and completing all statutory financial returns.

Applicants should preferably possess a recognised accountancy qualification (CCAB) or be actively studying and must be able to demonstrate a good level of technical expertise in local government finance. Applicants should also be able to analyse and communicate complex financial information.

Applicants should have a high level of expertise in using Microsoft Office and experience of using financial accounting systems. Medway currently uses iBS Integra.
