ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER (Housing)
Permanent, part-time 22 hours per week
Salary £33,772 to £42,417 pro rata per annum
A housing specialist is required to join the Private Sector Housing Team.
The section has a strategic and operational role in improving housing standards in the private sector and is responsible for home improvement grants, adaptations, housing enforcement, energy efficiency and HMO licensing.
The position will be challenging, varied and will require a good knowledge of HHSR and related housing legislation.
You must be a qualified Environmental Health Practitioner and will have experience in the enforcement of housing standards and a sound understanding of housing construction and housing defects.
You will be responsible for the licensing of HMOs, investigation of housing complaints, promoting energy efficiency and working with the private rented sector. You need to be able to travel throughout the Borough to undertake visits and inspections.
