Applicants must possess excellent organisational and customer care skills with the ability to cope under pressure so that our hands-on science exhibition runs smoothly and efficiently.
You and your team of “Explainers” will ensure that our visitors have an educational and fun visit providing information and assistance in interacting with the science exhibits as well as ensuring the area is clean and safe. You will also be presenting our science shows to schools and families.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude with a friendly, outgoing personality. Knowledge in science and supervisory skills are essential.
The Look Out Discovery Centre is a very popular visitor attraction with a hands on science exhibition, gift shop, coffee shop and play area, set in 1,000 hectares of Crown Estate woodland. The Look Out opens 7 days a week. Our aim is to make sure that our visitors have a safe, relaxing and enjoyable experience at all times, and the successful applicant will play a key role in achieving this.
The working hours are 18 hours per fortnight which are worked one week on, one week off, Saturday & Sunday from 9am to 6pm.
In return you’ll have the benefit of working in a friendly team within a unique, fun environment, and will be enrolled onto the Local Government Pension Scheme.
