The main focus of the post will be working as part of a team and supporting the day to day running of the Libraries. To shelve returned items in the correct alphabetical or numerical sequence as and when required, issue and discharge books and other items, ensuring that fees and charges are levied where appropriate, Repair and maintain all types of library materials and to undertake general duties when required to support service provisions.
To offer a polite helpful and efficient service to customers at all times with emphasis on a positive attitude to customer care. Good communication and listening skills together with a flexible attitude to working patterns, the ability to manage personal workloads.
Ensure public areas are maintained to the levels set down in the Quality Standards and to undertake general duties as required supporting service provision.
Assist in maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to all Health & Safety policy guidelines.

The post requires strenuous activity as you will be standing for long periods of time.
Applicants must hold/have the following:
• A good standard of general education, be literate and numerate (GCSE or equivalent)
• Ability to offer a strong commitment to customer service
• Demonstrable alphabetisation and numerical skills
